August Newsletter

We hope you are all enjoying the summer months.
Lately, I've been watching the Olympics and haven't gotten anything done! I am glued to watching that TV!
4 years ago, I had a scrappy quilt to work on during the Olympics, and this year, it crept up on me before I had a chance to get something cut out. Believe me, it isn't because I didn't have any ideas! I had several projects on my "bucket list" to do!
Well, we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves when things get busy! I had to pick up a few more shifts at my other job in Home Health and Hospice and that has been very tough on this old girl! We have had some very sick people... so I'm glad I can turn to my happy place at Comforts of Home and pick out fabric, watch TV and the Olympics. There isn't anything as relaxing as shopping for fabric and making a new project!

We have been getting shipments of new fabric in, so stop on in to see some new lines we have not carried before, or at least not for awhile. Michael Miller has his own line so we stocked up on some of his newer designs. Let me give you a hint, if you have been thinking of sewing some covers for your toaster, coffee pot and mixer, now would be the time to check out his fabric designed for the kitchen. He also has some cute designs of cat and dog fabric for the animal lovers out there!

Since our name Comforts of Home Quilting and More says it all, we also got a whole line of mixes in from Mabels Taste of Home. She is from Fargo, ND, and we are now carrying Scone Mixes ( Cranberry, Chocolate and Toffee Chip Scones, Pecan Cinnamon), Mochiccino Instant Coffee Mix, and a variety of dips for chips or pretzels or veggies. My favorite is the Raspberry Jalepeno dip... Come check it out!

We can't enter August without a fun incentive now can we? For the month of August, if you buy $25.00 you get to choose a free Pattern from a special basket we have set aside for this sale. Come early for the best Pattern selections.

From Bonnie:
T his month we feature our very own Trish, so she can't be the one to write this part! hehe
Do you know what Trish likes? She tells me her motto is "Fast, Fun and Easy", but I'm here to tell you she will order anything you want to try if she doesn't carry it. Well, if she can, I sould say. Sometimes her hands are tied when the Company requires say, a minumum order, like $500.00!!
I took a little survey of some of our regular customers I ran into who know Trish (simply because it is hard to ask her to toot her own horn, so to speak)
Donna said she's very helpful and generous!
Kathy said she's full of information and short cuts to difficult projects.
Mary tattled on her and said she "doesn't like to do any handwork- she would rather use the machine", and that she loves to order fabric! (good thing for all of us on that one--ha ha)
I love how she keeps up on new patterns, then displays completed projects and provides kits for someone like me who has trouble putting together colors and designs. ...and she keeps changing them. It is always fun to see what has changed since the last time I was in the shop!
Thanks for all you do behind the scenes to keep COH a great shop to shop, Trish! :)

If you love to sew like we do, check out

Until next time, "sew up a storm", and maybe we will get more  rain! :)
